During Prevention Week, from 17 to 21 November, our school hosted a unique exhibition entitled ‘A screen cannot replace eye contact’, prepared by the Psychological and
Pedagogical Support Team. Its aim was to draw attention to the importance of direct interpersonal relationships in a world where we increasingly communicate through
screens.
The exhibition featured posters, slogans and educational materials reminding us that true closeness does not happen online – it happens when we are together. Pupils and parents who visited our school during parent-teacher meetings could read inspiring messages encouraging them to put down their phones and spend time with family and friends.
Among the slogans were:
‘Instead of scrolling, look. Instead of clicking, talk.’
The exhibition attracted a lot of interest from students, teachers and parents alike. Many stopped at the boards, commenting on the message and sharing their own experiences. It was an excellent opportunity to reflect on how technology affects our relationships and how important it is to consciously build bonds in the digital world.
The organisers emphasise that such initiatives are extremely necessary because they help shape attitudes that promote mental health and good relationships within the family and among peers. The exhibition was not only an opportunity for education, but also for discussion – both in classrooms and in the corridors of the school.
