Our journey 17-21.11.2019, to a small town located in the southwest of Romania, we began our adventure with the Joyful School project in the frame-work of EU education program Erasmus +.
Calafat, a small town located on the beautiful Danube River, cool at this time of year, sleepy, wrapped in gray fog. The greeting was very cordial. We were welcomed by students dressed in national costumes, Romanian teachers and the school management. There were flowers, Romanian students introduced Romanian folklore, there were also lots of warm words and general joy.
In Calafat we spent three days visiting the city, school, there was a meeting with the mayor at the City Hall, training and visits in school classes.
The second part of the trip is a trip to Bucharest and sightseeing some interesting places. We visited the castle of Prince Dracula in Bran in Transylvania. It is one of the most famous castles in Europe and a symbol of Romania. This is a must-visit for those who travel and visit Romania. The next place to visit is the beautifully situated Peles Palace in Sinaia, the former summer residence of the Romanian kings. Winter weather has added charm to visiting this place. Then we went to Brasov, located at the foot of the Carpathians with a beautiful Old Town, representing various architectural styles and the town hall, which dates back to 1410. At the end of our journey we visited the impressive Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, one of the largest buildings in the world and the seat of the Romanian Parliament.
But the greatest value was and still are the people we met and spent several days with. They are the hosts of this part of the project and those who, like us, came to Calafat.
