On March 13-17, 2023, teachers from partner schools participating in the Erasmus Let's Hold Hands for Better World project met in Sassari, Sardinia. The topic of the meeting was Water, its pollution and the effects of pollution on the environment.

In partner schools from November 2022 to March 2023, teachers of biology, chemistry and geography worked with students to expand their knowledge related to the topic of water pollution and waste water. Competitions, classes, lessons and workshops for students as well as workshops for teachers were conducted.

During the meeting organized by teachers from the school in Sassari, various activities related to the topic of Water were held. During the meeting, all partners presented and discussed the projects and activities that were carried out in their schools.

Students from the host school discussed the prepared presentations on the issue of water - topics related to water pollution, the effects of its pollution and ways to counteract it. They presented computer games designed by themselves (Scratch), encouraging pro-ecological behavior and care for the environment. At school, we could see an exhibition of art works by the youngest students devoted to water protection.

The host teachers prepared a lesson on how to filter water from biological pollutants. During the lesson, the role of students was played by teachers who had the task, according to a prepared scenario, to prepare a filter and clean the water.

We visited the Water and Sea Museum in Sassari. The guide told us how drinking water used to be taken care of and how the aqueduct supplying water to the city worked.

The project included a visit to the sewage treatment plant in Capo Caccia, where we could see natural ways of reclaiming and treating water.

We also walked the educational path around Sardinia's the only natural lake, Lake Baratz. During the walk you could see beautiful fauna and flora. The path is often used during lessons to teach young people to respect nature and show them how important pro-ecological behavior is for the current and future world.

After intensive work, there was also a moment to watch beautiful Sardinia, smaller and larger towns and beautiful nature. At Capo di Caccia we visited Neptune's Grotto, where you can see the influence of water on the formation of unusual karst forms. Breathtaking landscapes, beautiful beaches of Sardinia as well as rich history will stay in our memory for a long time.
