The subject of the meeting was air, air pollution and diseases caused by this pollution. We wondered what should be done to prevent air pollution.

As a part of the meeting, the conference "Diseases caused by air pollution" was held. During the conference, attended by students, teachers and invited guests, we discussed topics related to air pollution, the impact of these pollutants on human health and ways to prevent processes unfavorable to human health.

Students crated presentations about  mechanisms, phenomena, physical and chemical processes related to air - air composition, ozone hole. Teachers from Turkey and Italy talked about how their countries care about clean air - "Air pollution and its prevention".

Michalina Bielawska, PhD, Director - Director of the Regional Atmosphere Monitoring Agency Foundation Gdańsk-Sopot-Gdynia gave a lecture abut Air quality in the Tri-City: sources of air pollution, measurements and changes in concentration levels. She also talked about the operation of an air measurement station in the Tri-City and shpwed an application that allows you to obtain information on air quality in a given place and at a given time. The participants of the Erasmus project  had also the opportunity to see the operation of one of the measurement stations located in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz.

Dr. Marta Potrykus, a representative of the interdepartmental Faculty of Biotechnology of the Medical University of Gdańsk and the University of Gdańsk, discussed the topic: Air contamination and its influence on human helth, talked about the impact of the quality of the air we breathe on our health.

As part of the conference, there were experimentsin the field of various natural sciences, prepared by students of grades 6-8, showing the properties of air and various interesting facts about air.

We could also see an exhibition of art works by students of classes 1-3, entitled "Let's hold hands for a better world" and an exhibition of posters "Air pollution" designed by students of classes 4-8.

In partner schools from March to May 2023, teachers of biology, chemistry and geography worked with students to expand their knowledge related to the topic "Diseases caused by air pollution". Competitions, exhibitions, classes, lessons and workshops for students as well as workshops for teachers were held.

During  meetings in Gdańsk, we shared information on all these activities as well as knowledge and experience on how to sensitize our students to an ecological way of life and care for our environment.

While the meeting was held we visited Gdańsk and its surroundings. We visited the castle in Malbork, we sailed by ship to Sopot. Teachers from Italy and Turkey could learn about the culture and customs of our country. We also took part in workshops entitled "What about this air", related to the subject of the project, organized by Hewelianum Gdańsk and we learned how to use the Lichen Scale to determine air purity.

Activities related to the subject of the project allowed us to broaden our knowledge about the ecological way of life, share with teachers from other countries our experience in teaching students about caring for the contemporary and future world.
